Our trip to Seattle, put into words…Claire’s words, that is…

I was trying to muster up the energy to recount our trip to Seattle last weekend, and then I realized that Claire had written it all down, as we did it, in her diary. So with her permission, here is a recap of our weekend through the eyes and literary goodness of Claire:

(Saturday, written as it happened)

Today we have driven for about 3 hours to get to Seattle, Washington. When we finally got to our hotel Annalisa was awaiting us at the front of it! The guy took our car to Valet park it. then we went to an Indian Vegetarian restaurant. After that, we went to a vintage store that had a french-fries sculpture eating one of his own kind!

We also went to Cupcake Royale, I got a lemon drop cupcake, Veda got a peppermint party, a mini red velvet for Annalisa, Mark got a mocha and a coconut bunny for Melissa (mom)!

Then to Clover! a cute toy store in Ballard!

We finally headed home, or, make that the Seattle Aquarium to see rainbow fish, seahorses, seals, otters, eels, an octopus ate pollock, and we pet sea-stars!

As Mom and Annalisa went off to to H & M, Veda Mark and I came here to the hotel. Now we have about 10 minutes to get ready to go. I’ll write more at (or after) dinner! P.S. since our room is next to the one the Beatles stayed in, Veda and I (plus Mark’s photography) recreated their picture…

…we also watched the ferry’s come to the dock, the birds dive into the water, and the Olympic (snowy) Mountains. So far I love this city!!! Now we’re at Pike’s brewery having dinner and our huuuuuuge booth! It has a bar for our feet to rest on, that’s how tall it is! I am having a Root beer to drink! And a chicken little to eat!! There is a purple tulip in a beer bottle on the table, haha!

(Written on Sunday, early in the morning – I mean EARLY! she was up and writing at 6:30am)

Last night we stopped at the caramel apple shop! (Rocky Mountain Chocolate Factory) Mark got some english toffee and all of us girls shared a caramel Reese’s pieces covered apple!

Claire is a wee bit of excited, eh?

(She jumps around here a bit, hopefully you can follow) Walking back to the car, we stopped at a wall chair! Oh my gosh, you should see the sunrise on the mountains! I have to take a picture, hold on!

Okay, I took about 5, I’m good. Anyways, a wall chair… it was a 2 seated chair with a big bar hitched to the side of a house, building type place!

Totally off subject again, a huuuuuge barge is just departing and there are two little boats leading it out! Cool! When we got hom we sat around and watched the Olympics. Now there is a voice telling people to “please board the Clipper to Vancouver B.C.” or something! Me and V took our showers and went on a self-tour of the hotel. It was fun! Soon we will be on our way to having some coffee, hot cocoa and croissants! Yum. So far today we have watched people on a boat go out to sea, a huuuge barge sit in the bay and do nothing, and a flock of seagulls play around with our country’s bird, the bald eagle! Now we are waiting on Pike St. at the market for Annalisa! Me and Veda had hot cocoa to drink and I had a ham & cheese croissant. Mom had coffee and a poppy seed muffin. Mark shared Veda’s almond croissant and Annalisa is having exactly what Mom is.

Awww, aren't they beautiful?

Now we are going to explore the market. TTYL! We went to the market and got samples of chocolate covered cherries, chocolate noodles, dried apples and bought a cup of strawberries and some huuuuge carrots!

Then we walked all the way to the Ye Olde Curiosity Shoppe on the waterfront and I got a mood monkey necklace and Veda got a butterfly mood necklace. Then we rode the carousel! It was fast and so fun!

After dropping Annalisa off at her car she gave us some bags from her art show. They are super awesome! Seattle rocks. I wish I lived there so that I could just explore like this every single day! It’s amazing to me how we did so much in just 2 days! Plus 1 night of not-so-great sleep. I don’t remember writing about the troll. I don’t think I did, let me check. BRB. Oh my gosh! I didn’t, okay well here it goes:

We were walking up to Fremont St. after lunch Saturday and Annalisa said we should visit the Fremont Troll. He is under a bridge, he’s hairy and he’s eating a VW beetle, and his nose is huuuuge! He is in the world record book, Veda had read about him before but hadn’t seen him. Cool!

And here are some random but fun pictures that were taken over the weekend… (did I mention we took a lot of pictures!?)…and I borrowed a couple from Annalisa (thanks sweetie pie!)…
