Happy Birthday Veda Rose!

Today is Veda’s 10th Birthday, it’s a very special one you know – double digits!  We celebrated on Sunday because it’s her Mom’s year to have her on the actual day.  She and I made some cupcakes on Saturday, but she did all the decorating with the new “magical” frosting gun I got.  It’s pretty sweet, really you should get one if you do any sort of frosting of desserts.  It’s so much easier than dealing with frosting bags. (a lot less messy).  You can find it at Joann’s, Michael’s or probably places like Target or Fred Meyer.

We had friends and family over to celebrate, thank you to everyone who was able to make it!  I think Veda had a wonderful day!

Happy Valentine’s Day!

We are in full celebration of Valentine’s Day this year.  The girls made some paper hearts and we hung them from the  ceiling.  I also made a felt heart garland that I found online here.  I don’t have a picture of it strung up above the dining area, but here is a picture taken during the process.

Veda brought home her list of classmates to give Valentine’s cards to, and she decided to craft her own instead of use store-bought ones this year (great choice!).  Mark found a few ideas online and got her creative juices flowing.  And then she got crafty!

Matchboxes, covered in paper with the matches inside replaced with...

...candy hearts and a special message...

...love this!

And if you are a friend on facebook you’ll know that I was crafting up something very special for the girls for Valentine’s Day, but also with a nod to the fact that they are about to have a little brother in the house.  And we decided to give them their gift tonight instead of waiting until morning, just in case he decided to make his appearance in the  middle of the night (wishful thinking…).  I think they were pretty happy with the gifts!

Handmade felt pillows!

You know, just a little something they can take off to college with them in a few years, to remember home by… hehe…

We hope you are surrounded by love and happiness tomorrow on the Holiday of Love… I’m still hoping I will have a baby for Valentine’s Day… cross your fingers!!

Whistle while we wait…

Nothing new happening on the baby front today, as of right this minute anyway… we are officially 38 weeks pregnant today. Enzo seems quite content to keep cooking a bit longer, which is fine.. I guess. Uh oh, see the impatience is starting to creep in..

So what better way to entertain my anxious brain than to share some adorable baby photos of … us!

Well, we can clearly deduce from these photos that our boy will not shy away from eating… and will have some serious chipmunk cheeks… and not a whole lot of hair for the first year!

My mother-in-law sent home a bag of baby clothes with us the other day, all originally belonging to Mark! That would make them “vintage”.. (sorry babe, had to say it!). I can’t wait to put them on Enzo when he fits them!

Hope you are having a great week!
xoxo
