4th of July
We hope you all had a very safe and happy 4th of July! Was your neighborhood noisy all night long? Ours was, or at least it felt that way to me. I turned up the volume on the white noise for Enzo, but that only drowned out the snap and crackle, not the pop.
We drove up the gorge for the weekend, to stay with Papa Ron and Marta. Papa kept the girls busy doing things like fishing, riding the horses, riding on the Polaris and they even brought out the slip’n'slide. Obviously we had great weather! I swear the sun comes up at 4am out in the country. It makes the day seem so much longer.
On Monday we went to the neighboring town for a 4th of July parade and soapbox derby. Papa Ron owns a hardware store, so he dressed up his Polaris and put the car on a trailer – voila – instant parade float! The grandkids were throwing candy. My nephew Wyatt raced in the soapbox derby and had so much fun! I don’t know who was more nervous, Wyatt or Grandma Trudie! But he handled it like a pro and is super excited to do it again next year. Grandma Trudie made his outfit, he was definitely the best dressed racer on the road! And Enzo got some sunshine for a change!
… oh and guess who turns 13 tomorrow???

Wyatt’s outfit is adorable. And, happy birthday to Claire!
I want to go with guys next 4th of July, you look like you had so much fun.
